Ökuland offers online courses that can be accessed anywhere and at any time.

- Each course is accessible for 48 hours after enrollment.

There are no exams at the end of the course.

Ökuland uses a learning management system called Canvas. No software needs to be downloaded to computers, and all common web browsers support Canvas.

If using a phone or tablet, it is recommended to download the Canvas Student app.

After completing the course, Ökuland handles the registration in Askur, the database of the Icelandic Transport Authority/Samgöngustofa and district commissioners/sýslumenn.

Ökuland is an accredited course provider.

The importance of completing continuing education before the expiration of the driver's license is emphasized.

The courses can be distributed as convenient over the five-year validity period of the driving rights.

The number 95 on the back of the driver's license indicates that the driver has the right to drive professionally.

Individuals are advised of the possibility of educational grants from trade unions, and companies of grants from vocational training funds.

Please note that when renewing a driver's license, a medical certificate must be submitted.
Structure of continuing education according to the Icelandic Transport Authority rules:

- Five continuing education courses must be completed before enhanced driving rights (in categories C1/C & D1/D) are renewed. It is recommended to distribute them over the five-year validity period of the driving rights.
- The courses are divided into three parts: Environment - Laws and Regulations & Safety, and now at least one course from each part must be taken. The other two are optional and can be from any part.
- There is no longer a distinction between core, elective core, and elective courses.
- Now it is mandatory that one of the five courses that drivers take includes a practical component, such as a driving safety course, practical eco-driving course, winter driving course, or practical first aid.
